We travelled to Bulgaria in mid-February 2006, direct from Edinburgh. I have to admit that it was with a certain amount of trepidation – never having been to the country before and knowing we were some of the first guests at the development.
All fears were totally unfounded – from the minute we were met at the airport to being dropped off a week later it was the perfect winter holiday.
In 25 years of skiing & boarding it was certainly the best European trip I’ve had.
Incredibly cheap (£7 for a 2 course steak dinner with drinks in one of the best restaurants in Pamporovo), more than adequate runs for all levels of skiers/boarders and best of all – virtually no queuing and no overcrowding, even at peak times.
The villa itself has everything you would expect of top-class accommodation and the setting is stunning despite being only 10 mins from the slopes.
Special mention must be made of the staff - nothing was too much trouble and helped ensure our stay was stress free and hugely enjoyable.
We will certainly be returning and have already recommended others that they should make the trip.
This was our first visit to Bulgaria. We didn’t know what to expect but what we found was a beautiful country with some genuinely beautiful people. We saw some of the nicest scenery we have ever encountered and enjoyed some of the best snow and mountain terrain available. There were loads of runs spread out over a huge area, which ensured short queues for lifts, if any.
The accommodation was excellent to say the least and the setting was magnificent. The chalet was exceptionally comfortable and had every creature comfort we could have wished for. The beautiful log fire was a brilliant centrepiece made extra special by the fact that it was fuelled by wood from the surrounding forest.
We will definitely be back and we can’t recommend it enough.
